Brandt is widely known and used across America. He is in constant demand as a public speaker. He has a unique ability to use ready wit not only to entertain but also to drive home truths from the Bible. His experiences while traveling and living in numerous cultures other than his own beloved United States of America have helped shape his personality and worldview.
He and wife Gailia have been married since 1981 and have four children and two grandchildren. Their sons and daughters are not too mixed up from having lived abroad most of their lives. Brandt and Gailia served overseas since 1992. The Mandarin Chinese language is their second language and has played a major role connecting with nationals while living in China, Taiwan and Thailand. Their work has taken them to nearly every country in East and Southeast Asia. Most recently Brandt and Gailia served two years in the heart of Baghdad, Iraq’s “red zone.”
Brandt was also very active in producing the Following Jesus
Mandarin version of the Chronological Oral Bible. Readers are encouraged
to investigate this project at www.fjseries.org for more information.
He served three Southern Baptist churches and was visiting adjunct
professor of cross-cultural studies at the Mid-America Baptist Theological
Seminary in Cordova, Tennessee and visiting adjunct professor of missions
at Williams Baptist College in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas.
